UROS–TAQUILE 2 DAYS / 1 NIGHTS
Duration: 2 Days / 1 Night
Frequency: Every day
DAY 1: PUNO – AMANTANÍ
We pick you up from your hotel at 7.30 a.m., and take you to the port. From here we take a motor boat to the legendary island of Uros, where we can observe the life of the local people, who live on floating islands made of reeds. After 3 hours navigating across the lake, we reach the island of Amantaní, where we stay with local families for the night. We have an opportunity to walk to the top of the mountain (4,150 m.) to see the temples to Pachamama and Pachatata and enjoy the traditional customs of the islanders.
Lunch and dinner will be provided by local families.
DAY 2: AMANTANÍ – PUNO
After breakfast, we head back onto the water, and after 1 hour in the boat arrives at the island of Taquile. Here we can talk to the locals and admire their traditional clothing, which is handmade on the island. The quality and uniqueness is such that the textiles of Taquile have been recognized by UNESCO as cultural heritage for humanity. There is time to stretch your legs and go walking on the island before lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, we return to Puno, and arrive at approximately 4 p.m.
